This painting began as a commission - a light still life with flowers for a family home. But life changed the course: I painted over the bouquets, leaving only three empty vases in a dark room. Through the layers of paint, the traces of the original idea are still visible - a fourth vessel and flowers, like a memory of what once was but has lost its meaning. Now the vases are filled with emptiness. For me, this work is about the loss of meaning and joy, but also a reminder that even emptiness can be touched with a little color - and it may not feel so heavy.
